Story #2226
Canadian story here.
First week of Basic Military Qualification, Private (Pte) R is one of those 17 year old fake redneck idiots and throughout he day, acted hard and “knew everything about army life” and spewed Wikipedia garbage everywhere. The course staff found this great and made him section senior. So we go off on PT and we return for inspection. Course staff only let section seniors know the standard and they were to delegate to the rest of the section. Well PTE R didn’t tell the rest of the section so we had our cots and kit thrown everywhere typical army fashion. It was to be expected. Our course Warrant officer (who mind you has 35 years of military experience in multiple conflicts) asks PTE R what went wrong and I shit you not, PTE R sounds off ” WARRANT, THE CHAIN OF COMMAND IS UNRELIABLE WARRANT”. Our chain command consisted of 10 Sgts and MCpls with a combined total of 140 years of service, with the one having 3 tours to afghan. To this day I have never heard “What the F*ck” yelled so loud in perfect unison and seen so many course staff move so fast to one man’s position in my life. PTE R was a silent man after that.
