2013 White phase Submitted by Matt It was about a week before holiday leave. We had been sent upstairs to the bay for barracks maintenance. About half an hour into this I hear my name over the intercom. DS V was taking us to the battalion to get accountable mail. I didn’t know this and thought for a small second that we were going.to the px to get something for block leave. This was not the case and when we get to the battalion DS V sees my wallet in my pocket as I thought I may need to buy something. He loses it just a little bit and says he can’t wait until we get back to the barracks to find one of my platoon drill sergeants who would care much more. When we get back he has me hold the wallet over my head and calls over the intercom for DS M my actual drill sergeant. DS M was calm at first told me to open the package then go upstairs and put it up and get back down on the CTA for a surprise. Then he gets on the intercom and gets the entire platoon down on the CTA. Apparently the platoon DS was pissed about fraternization and so DS M was going to make a example of me and he said so 1 inch from my face. Then yelled for me to unstack the clearing barrel sand bags 30 -50 lbs each and re stack them. This went on for more than an hour in front of the entire platoon. Finally when I felt like I was going to collapse and must have looked twice as bad he let the platoon help. We then had to re stack and unstack them and carry them to the field next to the company twice. The funniest thing was that the whole platoon was screwing up so we got our phase banner taken too, and instead we marched with a straw broom for about a week. Later in gold phase DS M told me he thought I was one of his worker bees because I never quit and I think this is what he was referring to.
