So in 2007 I was pulling medical support for a pre I ET unit with the RSP and I finally got a moment to eat my lunch. So as I’m eating some privates come over and look only at my boots… I hear PVT A say “didn’t know Barbie boots were acceptable for Military standards” private B not to be out done says “since when did Mattel make combat boots” I should mention that I have really small feet (size 2 combat boots).

anyway one of the Drill Sergeants heard this comment and flipped out about how they were insulting one of his cadre… he smokes them with front back goes for at least 30 minutes. No sooner had they recovered then a member of the infantry home unit for the Armory walked up and asked what happened. … maybe out of instincts I don’t know pvt A tells the story. Infantry sergeant sees the medic bag and asks me if I am a medic. I answer yes, no sooner have I finished answering then this infantry sergeant smiles A suspicious half-smile with anger behind his eyes.

Immediately tells private a and private B to drop because anyone who would insult a medic deserves to push the Earth down. after a full round of 15 minutes of just pushing infantry sergeant asks me what my favorite exercise is I respond that I am partial to the butterfly an infantry sergeant makes private a and private B do a further 10 minutes of butterflies. After he has them apologize to me infantry sergeant releases them to go back to whatever they had been doing when they began insulting me.

Because of this they were 15 minutes late for formation drill sergeant b (female) confornts privates about being late. Private steamer do not provide an excuse and are dropped for being late. At this time drill sergeant A and I walk into the room drill sergeant A tells drill sergeant b what happened drill sergeant be besides that because they use the word Barbie it was a comment against my gender as well.

They are Dropped for another 40 minutes as drill sergeant be gives them a lecture about women in the military and the Army’s Zero Tolerance policy about gender discrimination. The entire unit is held back from final formation and forced to watch an improvised sharp themed PowerPoint.
