Story #2297
During the week long artillery FTX caller we were instructed to set up a security post on either side of the entrance to our bivouac. This consisted of to Fox Hall to be manned by two people at all times. We had a 5th person the stands at the entrance to be visible. On the morning of the third day, I was chosen to be the goat. As people passed in, meaning our captain our lieutenant are various instructors and of course our drill sergeants, we were to stop them and use what was supposed to be a precept reply and response. That morning it was thunder and bang. Of course no one seemed to know the response back. When that happened someone what have to be sent to get permission to let them in. Both the CO and the XO had no problem with waiting. When drill sergeant J arrived and was walking towards us I held my hand up and said thunder. He continued to walk forward and said, get the fuck out of my way. When he got closer I held up my weapon and said, thunder. He ignored us and kept walking towards us when he heard five distinct clicks, since of course we had no ammunition in our weapon. He looked at all 5 of us, snarled, and said, “That’s the first smart thing that has happened to you turd cherries since your mother decided not to swallow.”
